Why convert PNG to JPG?

PNG files can be very large, especially for photographs. JPG uses lossy compression to produce files that are typically 5–10x smaller than the equivalent PNG. If you need to email photos, upload them to a platform with file size limits, or reduce storage usage, JPG is the practical choice.

JPG is also the standard format for photographs on the web and in print. Most social media platforms, email clients, and document editors handle JPG natively without any compatibility issues.

How it works

FlipFiles loads your PNG in the browser, renders it onto a Canvas element, and exports it as JPG at the quality level you choose. Use the quality slider to balance file size and image clarity. Nothing leaves your device — the conversion is instant and private.

A note on transparency

JPG does not support transparency. If your PNG has a transparent background, it will be replaced with a white background in the JPG output. If you need to keep transparency, convert to WebP or keep the PNG format instead.
