Why convert HEIC to WebP?
HEIC is Apple's default photo format — great for storage but poorly supported outside the Apple ecosystem. WebP offers similarly excellent compression while being supported by every modern browser, Android device, and most image editors.
Converting HEIC to WebP gives you the best of both worlds: small file sizes and broad compatibility. It is the ideal format for uploading iPhone photos to the web or sharing them with non-Apple users.
How it works
FlipFiles uses a WebAssembly-powered HEIC decoder (libheif) to read your iPhone photos directly in the browser. The decoded image is then re-encoded as WebP at the quality level you choose. Your files never leave your device — there is no upload and no cloud processing.
